Adult wearing on the other hand, the sort of people who may have been deliberately know the context and treat social media as a photo album….where anyone can see. This is not mentioning relying on children’s innocence to wear an inappropriate costume and being a dick about it.
I think Avatar: The Promise pointed out the issue where Aang got upset over “cultural appropriation” by his fans wearing sacred tattoo before realizing that he can teach them to become historical reconstruction group to his now extinct culture and concept of “dual citizenship” over Fire Nation colonies’ mixed citizenry.
Saying someone can or cant wear something because of their race/ethnicity IS racism.
