I prefer to think of it as the pimp is really a loving father who would do anything to see his kids, so he confronts his abusive wife face to face as opposed to sending the child support check through the mail. It breaks his heart that the kids aren’t unable to go run to him because they fear another beating from that abusive mom.
Someday though, someday the pimp will rise and earn enough money on the side to finance a lawyer and sue that skank and win his family back, and afterwards, retire from the game, and make up for lost time with his big loving family.
