distruction. chaos. disaster. i spent way to long doing research to find out if it’s “your” or “you’re” only to discover that they sound the same when speeking english.

Difference between two is that either you own one, or you are one; but most illiterate muricans cant for reason you mention make difference between your, you’re and here, there, where for example; ending that your are apple somewhere instead of having apple here

I think most could tell the difference between “here, there, and where.”
The difference between “there, their, & they’re,” not so much.

But, the worst offenders have to be those who can’t tell the difference between “bought & brought.” They’d never survive a bring-and-buy sale.

I just make the word longer; you’re means you are so if that sounds stupid in a sentence it might be wrong

Examples: Your reaction created an discussion. And you’re (you are) the writer of this comment.

But maybe i am missing something, i am non English, and did not really learn it well at school. Most i picked up from gaming/videos/the internet
I failed an English exam and passed a year later, the first year i got my own laptop with internet, the school book was just really bad and very simple

Oh and in reverse is the example:
You’re (you are, this sounds really dumb in this sentence) reaction created an discussion. And your (my what, sounds meh this way) the writer of this comment.

All this confusion could’ve been mostly avoided if some ~12th century nob hadn’t mistaken the thorn and yogh characters for y’s.
