Personal Responsibility

I know people that have books in their shelves at home, but never read them. They’re just for decoration.

This guy is just one step ahead of them.

What other use does a book have besides decor? I’m confused 🤔🤔

Philistine! A book is like the swiss army knife of furniture!

What are you gonna put under the short leg of the table to stop it wobbling? A Book!

How are you gonna keep that door open? Prop a book or two next to it!

And, What do you do when you can’t reach the top shelf? In imitation of the great Anthony Aloysius Hancock, you stand on a pile of books, of course!

My God you are right! But I never used book to reach something on a high bookshelf because I am veeeeery tall (one quadrillion centimeters, or inches whatevs make me taller). So excuse mua senjor.

Good for you. I’m not so tall.

(*I had to ask another customer to get something off the top shelf** in a store the other day)

(**I could reach the front of the top shelf, but the shelves were deep, and the item I wanted was at the back)

I had something similar happened like 5 months ago, I don’t know what I did, I think I strained my shoulder or something so I couldn’t lift my arm up. Thank God I have my other hand, so I didn’t have problems with reaching top shelves, but if you would throw e.g. a pillow (talking about an event that transpired) I wouldn’t be able to catch it and I would most likely break a lot of stuff… Like a glass or that froggy thingy which brings good luck and wealth to the household.

Sounds similar to what I’ve been currently suffering from since the new year – a frozen shoulder.

Can’t move my arm anything like as freely or as quickly as my good arm. Not allowed to drive, ride a bike, or do any heavy lifting. Couldn’t even move my arm enough for the hospital staff to properly scan my shoulder to see if there was any tissue damage. Options were therefore limited, as steroid injections might’ve exacerbated any unseen tissue damage, and so I’m doing physio – lots of simple, repetitive exercises where I’ve got to manipulate my shoulder without actively using any of the shoulder muscles.
